Join us as our new Fresh Dairy Production Technician
We are looking for a passionate, curious and enthusiastic dairy technologist to play a vital role in ensuring high quality production of neutral and fermented milk products, and therefore contribute to the timely delivery of new and innovative biosolutions to the market.
You will become part the global Fresh Dairy Denmark department which is anchored within a larger Fresh Dairy Application organization spanning Denmark, France, US and China. Located in Denmark Hørsholm, our team has a global role and collaborates closely with commercial, R&D, local application teams, Sales and our customers all over the world. The department is composed of 22 highly skilled scientists and technicians, which are distributed in 2 teams with different areas of responsibility (projects and technical support).
The Projects, Competences and Sensory team, you are joining, plays a pivotal role in both short and long-term new product development projects aiming at developing new combined solutions of microbial cultures and enzyme for our customers for a wide range of fresh dairy applications. We are using state-of-the-art production pilot and laboratory technologies, methodologies and modern equipment to deliver on our ambition. Our missions are to translate market needs into project measurable targets and deliverables and test developed products in industrial-like conditions. Furthermore, the team has a strong focus on developing new dairy processes and technologies in small, medium and large scale, digital competences, and application skills essential to successful implement the biosolutions at customer site. The team is multicultural and values good collaboration, open communication and displays an helpful mindset. The 4 technicians in the team work in a flexible way across many different projects and the responsible scientists. At the same time, each technician develops into specialized area of expertise which ensure on-going personal and professional development, as well as an optimization of our existing methods and processes.
In this role you’ll make an impact by…
Planning, designing and conduct high quality mini/medium size pilot scale production and relevant follow-ups for our Fresh Dairy innovation project pipeline. You will ensure ensuring optimal quality, sensory profile and performance of the final dairy products. You will contribute, in collaboration with the relevant worldwide experts, in raising our knowledge on how to apply in the best way novonesis bacterial cultures and enzymes in fresh dairy applications. You will optimize and establish new relevant dairy technologies, equipment and processing conditions for neutral and fermented milk applications.
Your tasks as a Fresh Dairy production technician will furthermore include:
* Prepare samples for follow up analyses of fermented milk products in relation to microbiology, pH, texture, chemical composition and sensory analyses.
* Understand and critically analyze of the carried-out experiment, report results, findings, and conclusions in notebook.
* Participate in large scale trials at customers and contribute to building relationship with equipment providers.
* Perform cleaning, maintenance and safety checks on production equipment to ensure good quality and working environment.
* Manage supply and stock of raw materials
* Undertake duties to maintain smooth functioning of production facility and laboratories shared between technicians the Dairy & Dairy Alternative Applied R&D organization.
* Actively interact with technician and scientist and raise your opinion to influence and optimize our ways of working.
To succeed you must hold:
* A degree as dairy-, food-, process- technologist or similar
* Previous experience with innovation teams, dairy cultures and/or enzymes processing equipment would be considered as a plus.
* A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in food industry with practical experience with safety, food quality systems and GMP guidelines.
* Comfortable working with office365 package (Teams) and IT systems
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* You thrive with routine tasks, yet able to keep the overview of diverse experimental tasks.
* As a person you are curious, open and have a natural interest in food development.
* You are pragmatic and take ownership and responsibility to resolve issues promptly and efficiently minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
